The ballot box with ballot emoji is popular and frequently used, though it is hardly very versatile and can be used only within fairly narrow parameters. It shows a closed and sealed box – occasionally with a visible lock on it – which is usually blue or brown, but which can also be white or gray, depending on the emoji platform used. A small piece of paper – the ballot – is shown, almost always with either a tick or cross marked onto it and being inserted through a narrow slot in the box’s lid. It is used whenever talking about elections, whether major national events or simple school polls!
